Instant Loneliness
Synopsis
Instant Loneliness is an immersive musical experience about loneliness, featuring new compositions by Kate Moore. Hundreds of thousands of people live in this city.
And within all those people, millions, if not billions, of dreams are fermenting.
And of all those countless dreams, most are shipwrecked somewhere along the way.
In itself, that is not a bad thing. On the contrary: imagine if every dream were to come true and be realised.
A catastrophe.
But among those hundreds of thousands of people carrying billions of unfulfilled dreams, many feel that they have failed profoundly, and feel alone.
What are we to do with this mass grave of expectations?
How can we learn to live with loss, disappointment and loneliness?
In a dark landscape, where those reaching desperately for the light balance precariously above, loneliness hides among the roots. A musical journey through life, performed by eight cellists, a dancer and an actress.
Following the success of Instant Happiness and Instant Love, Via Berlin, Cello Octet Amsterdam and Korzo present the final part of their triptych exploring destructive, human-made ‘happiness industries’.is the final part of the Instant-triptych by Via Berlin and Cello Octet Amsterdam. To create a deeper connection with our audiences, we present this production for an extended period in six theaters across the Netherlands.
