About us

Who we are

Our Roots

Founded in 2009 Via Berlin began with a clear ambition: to translate complex societal questions into emotional, artistic experiences.

What soon became a very successful and well known music theatre company that travelled from Europe to Brasil, to Russia and China and from Norway to South Africa, has since evolved into a broader transdisciplinary practice, working closely together with scientists, other artists, and specialised social partners.

What we create

We create immersive artistic work that explores complex questions through arts-based research. Working across disciplines, we translate research, lived experience, and abstract ideas into forms that can be experienced, not merely understood.

Our projects take different shapes, from performances and installations to site-specific exhibitions and public interventions. The format is always shaped by the question.

Why

In a time of increasing complexity, many of the forces shaping our lives are difficult to grasp through language alone. We believe art can create space for reflection by making these dynamics tangible and shared.

By connecting perspectives from the arts, research, and society, our work opens up new ways of understanding and relating to the world around us.

How we work

Our practice is collaborative and transdisciplinary. We work with artists, researchers, and societal partners to explore urgent questions and translate them into collective experiences.

Through this process, we aim to create work that not only communicates, but invites participation, reflection, and dialogue. Explore more of our work on the page Projects and see what we can do for you on the pages for:
